Matt W. Cody was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As a boy, he pursued his dual interests in theater and classical music, and went on to earn degrees in trumpet and conducting at UCLA. As a conductor, he was a private student of Michael Morgan and Samuel Krachmalnick.

Upon moving to New York, he rekindled his passion for theater and began serious training as an actor. Matt works professionally in theater, film, and television, and currently studies on-camera technique with Jon Shear.

Recently, Matt has added screenwriting to his creative portfolio. CREAM CITY, his first pilot script, co-written with Jeffrey James Keyes, won Best Teleplay at the 2022 Omaha Film Festival and was an official selection at the 2022 Nantucket Film Festival.

Matt is a proud member of SAG-AFTRA and Actors’ Equity Association.
